The Otakuologist

I just got finished taking the 200 question “The Anime Otaku-ness Test” at Armory.com. Some of the more embarrassing questions that I answered positively to were:

• Do you know what ‘nani’ and ‘baka’ mean? (Actually this is kind of a cheat.  The origianal question is “If yes, do you know what ‘nani’ and ‘baka’ mean.  And it was meant to partner up with the previous question which was: “Do you commonly use words like ‘nani’ and ‘baka’ even though you can’t speak Japanese?”  I do know what ‘nani’ and ‘baka’ mean but I don’t commonly use them.
• Do you commonly use words like ‘nani’ and ‘baka’ even though you can’t speak Japanese?  Yup, Studio Ghibli, Aniplex and Manga.
• Do you own multiple VCR decks?  Yes and this is particularly embarrassing as this test was created in 1998 when VCR’s were the top of home recording technology.  I own two.  One is a VCR/DVD combo and the other is a TV/VCR combo we keep in our bathroom.  So we can watch VHS tapes.  On the toilet.  While pooping.

So yeah.  I answered yes to 45 questions giving me a score of 77.5% otaku pure, which acording to their scoreboard makes me a “Dark Prince of otaku (virgin SVHS decks I sacrifice unto you)”

Update:  I just realized that I got the scores mixed up.  I’m 77.5% otaku pure which means I’m 22.5% otaku corrupt.  Too bad ’cause I’d rather be corrupt than pure.  I better get started shopping at JList.
